The prequel of The Karnstein Trilogy and the strongest entry in the series, Twins of Evil features an aggressively pious performance by Peter Cushing, a smattering of gore, and a solid plot with a few surprises. The biggest surprise, however, ends up being the low quotient of nudity compared to The Vampire Lovers and Lust for a Vampire, especially considering the presence of two Playboy centerfolds!
An informative featurette that delves far more into Le Fanu’s novel and influences rather than the actual film, it does at least track the state of Hammer horror at the time and delivers as much BTS info as possible while being unable to interview most of the actors and technicians. Still, a few pop up, so there’s at least a few amusing tidbits from the production.
